SHEPHERD PARK RENOVATION
This 1922 Sears Kit home in DC’s Shepherd Park was thoughtfully renovated for aging in place and long-term sustainability. After 35 years in the neighborhood, the homeowners wanted a space that could evolve with them. We opened up the main floor for better flow, added a full bath that can support a future bedroom, and built a new deck with an accessible ramp—designed around their favorite magnolia tree. The home was also converted to all-electric appliances and equipment, powered by a full array of solar panels expected to produce more energy than the home uses.
